Carved Illustration
For my first project, I etched this bird into film that would later be exposed on a polymer plate.

Scorpio
For this assignment, I was asked to create 6 images for the word zodiac, but I could only use letters, numbers, and dingbats... no images.
This is what I came up with to represent scorpio.

Type Specimen
I designed my own typeface using a reed pen that I made. We then had to make a small type specimen book that featured our typeface. I decided my typeface could be used in a pirate setting and so my hand-bound book was all about Robert Surcouf, a famous French pirate. (Corsair means pirate in French).

Fabric Printing
As a lover of collage and mixed media, I wanted to figure out how I could combine fabric, illustration, and letterpress printing for my final project. I ended up choosing several illustrations from my sketchbook and creating miniature plates of my drawings. In the end, I letter pressed custom collages for each my of my classmates onto different weights of fabric.

Riddle
My teacher gave me a riddle and gave me two assignments.
1-Figure out the answer to the riddle.
2-Illustrate the answer of the text of the riddle.
The answer to mine was body & soul. I have seen a hand and glove used as a simile to represent body and soul. So I chose to blind print (without ink) a glove to represent the body, and the actual text represents the surrounding and encompassing soul.
